A single smooth vamp band runs horizontally across the instep, with a sculptural oval ring formed from the same upper material mounted at the centre point where the toe post meets the vamp strap. The toe post passes through the base of the oval ring and splits into two thin branches anchoring into the footbed on either side of the first toe, with the ring sitting upright and visible above the strap surface.
