Five thin metallic straps span the vamp in a crossover formation, with three straps originating from the inner sole edge and running diagonally toward the outer toe area and two straps originating from the outer sole edge and running diagonally toward the inner toe area, all five intersecting at varying heights across the vamp to create an open woven lattice above the round toe. A thin plain ankle strap wraps around the rear of the heel and connects to the upper at both the inner and outer edges, closing at the inner ankle with a small rectangular buckle. A small round dome stud sits at the inner ankle strap anchor point where the strap meets the sole edge.
